Summary:  Natural products remain to be the best sources of new drugs and drug leads, and biosynthesis of natural products continues to push the frontiers of chemistry, biochemistry, and, more recently, structural biology. This workshop will discuss how to take advantage of the emerging technologies to address the fundamental questions governing natural product biosynthesis, to discovery novel chemistry, enzymology, and structural biology inspired by natural products, and to fully realize the potential of natural products in drug discovery and development.

CV of Prof. Ben Shen
        沈奔教授系浙江大学校友,美国University of Wisconsin-Madison药学院教授,并获Charles M. Johnson Distinguished Chair in Pharmaceutical Sciences等荣誉,主要从事天然产物的药化、生物合成等方向的研究,近年在Science, PNAS, JACS, JBC,Cancer Res等知名杂志上发表论文70余篇,包括3篇Science、6篇PNAS、10篇JACS、8篇JBC,是国际著名的药物学家和生物化学家。
